Planning a video shoot that accurately captures the subject is a thrilling challenge. It is especially so when it involves music…and it’s supposed to rain during a shoot that was originally designed to be outside. Back to the drawing board the night before. We needed to make sure that the look fit the feeling. So, as the director, I chose to primarily use a vintage 35mm Russian lens on a modern DSLR to achieve that. Shot selection and composition finished out the palette. And that’s how “That Much Is Certain” started its tumultuous life as a music video…with not much being certain. Since then, it grew into maturity, gained a little wisdom, found itself, and now lives in the minds and hearts of those who support this group of guys that call themselves – Marytre.
