We were challenged by my sister to participate in the 2014 Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for ALS. If you’re not aware, ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, slowly progresses, attacking its victims’ nervous system.
We knew it was just a matter of time before we would be challenged, so when the videos started to surface in our Facebook news feeds, we put on our thinking caps. The night we were challenged, we set up two flashes behind a chair, set the self timer on the camera, and Jason Bennett, photographer, picked up a bucket of water to throw it on me, who was waiting in the famous Flashdance pose. We nailed it the first time!
Being the perfectionists that we are, we decided to do it 3 more times. One of those times, I even breathed in at the exact wrong moment. When it was all said and done, we had a waterlogged backyard, a very confused (and concerned) dog, and this great shot!
