Good, Fast, Cheap

In business, when considering a new venture or advancing an idea, there is a model one should consider before jumping in with both feet.  This model is called the Project Triangle.

  • Design something quickly and to a high standard, but then it will not be cheap.
  • Design something quickly and cheaply, but it will not be of high quality.
  • Design something with high quality and cheaply, but it will take a long time.

As the image shows there are 3 components to the triangle:  Good, Fast and Cheap.  Generally, we can only have two.   The two we choose will be dictated by the amount of money you are willing to invest or by the time you are allotting to the project.  And these are determined by the importance of what you are about to do.

If your company is launching into an advertising campaign or just doing videos for your website,  careful consideration must be made.  What you do next can propel your business forward or send it backward.  It all depends on how you convey yourself to your new prospective clients.

Video is a very powerful tool when used correctly… it is also deadly when used incorrectly.  Do you remember this?

Video ruined his chances for the biggest job in the world.  Granted, it was not planned, but that is kinda the point.  Always weigh the options of the Project Triangle.  With a little guidance and a bit of creativity, your video can be what sets you apart from the rest.

What company videos do you remember that have been great or “talked” you into a product or service?
